About this position

Tarleton State University is inviting applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biological Sciences at its main campus in Stephenville, Texas, United States.

The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to research in quantitative ecology, meta-analysis, statistics, plant ecology, and evolutionary biology. The hosting laboratory studies the evolutionary and functional ecology of plants from basic and applied perspectives, with particular emphasis on how native plants adapt to global environmental change drivers, including invasive species.

Responsibilities include conducting meta-analytical research, leading large-scale data synthesis and field research projects, assisting Dr. Gianoli with grant proposals and team research, presenting findings at regional and national scientific meetings, and developing collaborations with plant ecology and evolution researchers in the United States and internationally.

Applicants must hold a PhD in ecology, evolutionary biology, plant sciences, or a related field. Required experience includes large-scale data synthesis, publications, independent research from design through publication, and statistical or modeling tools used in meta-analysis. First-author peer-reviewed publications and presentations are expected. Experience as a PI, student mentoring, lecturing, and work in diverse research settings are preferred.

The appointment is in person and may last up to 17 months: an initial 12 months with a possible five-month renewal, subject to performance, mutual agreement, and funding. The target annual salary is $60,000, negotiable according to experience and available funding, with a comprehensive benefits package. Applications are reviewed immediately and remain open until the position is filled.

Applicants should submit an online application, cover letter, CV or resume, at least three current professional references with contact information, and unofficial transcripts through the Tarleton State University Workday application portal.
