About this position
Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Cannabis, Brain, & Development (CBD) Lab at Washington State University. This fixed-term postdoctoral position is based in the Department of Integrative Physiology and Neuroscience in the College of Veterinary Medicine, and is located in Dr. Ryan McLaughlin’s lab in Pullman, Washington.
The project investigates the long-term effects of prenatal cannabis exposure on corticostriatal circuit function and cognitive flexibility using a multidisciplinary rat model. The successful candidate will work on behavioral neuroscience experiments, including vapor self-administration and operant conditioning paradigms such as attentional set-shifting and reversal learning, alongside stereotaxic surgeries, viral AAV injections, optic fiber implant procedures, and fiber photometry recordings.
The role sits within a research environment that combines behavioral, surgical, and systems neuroscience approaches, with an emphasis on developmental neurobiology, cannabinoid-related mechanisms, and in vivo calcium imaging. The postdoctoral researcher will also help support the lab through mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and contributing to the broader research program.
This is a research-intensive postdoctoral appointment in a laboratory focused on cannabis exposure and brain development.
