About this position
This postdoctoral role sits within the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (CEVAW) at Monash University and contributes to the Future Lives and Violence Against Women workstream. The project examines the paid and unpaid workforce resources involved in responding to violence against women across Pacific Island countries and Papua New Guinea, with a strong emphasis on Indigenous-centred and community-led research.
The fellow will lead fieldwork across multiple Pacific and PNG sites, including data collection and qualitative data management, and will help develop culturally grounded analytical and audit frameworks that can inform training and support for front-line Indigenous family violence workforce participants. The role bridges empirical research and practical impact, with a clear focus on generating evidence that can shape the working conditions, capabilities, and future needs of this workforce.
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment within CEVAW, working alongside Chief Investigators, Partner Investigators, and international partner organisations. The role also includes contributing to research training and ethics activities, co-supervising research support staff, mentoring HDR students, and producing publications and conference outputs from the project.
Mentorship is highlighted as a key feature of the role, with the successful fellow working directly alongside Professor Kyllie Cripps in a supportive, high-performing research setting. The project is positioned as part of CEVAW’s wider mission to transform understanding of violence against women in Australia and the Indo-Pacific through evidence-based, trajectory-changing research and practice.
