About this position

Universidad Complutense de Madrid is advertising a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in computational antibody design and AI-driven therapeutics, based in the Computational Biophysics Research Unit and linked to Hospital Clínico San Carlos. The project combines molecular simulations, machine learning, and computational biophysics to study the design and optimisation of therapeutic antibodies and ADCs, with collaboration from the biotech sector.

The successful candidate will work across the full antibody optimisation workflow, including antibody structure and antibody–antigen complex prediction, CDR identification and analysis, molecular dynamics simulations, free-energy calculations, rational mutation design, AI-assisted candidate optimisation, and computational assessment of developability properties such as aggregation, solubility, and structural stability.

This is a strong fit for candidates with a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Materials Science, or a related field, plus hands-on experience in molecular dynamics, Python, Linux/scientific computing, machine learning for biomolecules, and excellent English. Preferred experience includes computational antibody design, protein structure prediction (AlphaFold/ColabFold), coarse-grained MD, statistical mechanics, free-energy methods, HPC, and a publication record in computational biophysics or related areas.

The position is temporary and full-time, with funding through Horizon Europe - ERC. The post is located in Madrid, Spain. The deadline is 15 August 2026. Applications should be sent by email to [email protected] with a CV, motivation letter, transcripts/diplomas, and contact details for two referees. A brief summary of a Master's thesis or relevant research projects is optional but encouraged.

Funding details

Full funding including tuition fees and living expenses is available for this position. The scholarship covers all educational costs and provides a monthly stipend.
