About this position

Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Mills Lab

The Mills Lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate metabolite signaling and innate immune-cell function in models of infection and cancer.

The research uses mass spectrometry-based approaches to define metabolite signaling at cellular and whole-body levels, examining how metabolism shapes immune-cell function. The fellow will lead independent immunology and metabolism projects, design and execute experiments, analyze complex datasets, publish first-author papers, and present findings at scientific meetings.

Applicants should hold or be close to completing a PhD in immunology, metabolism, cell biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with relevant research experience. A strong immunology background is required. Preferred experience includes metabolism, mass spectrometry, cell culture, immunological methods, multicolor flow cytometry, mouse and in vivo models, microscopy, CRISPR gene editing, and bioinformatics or large-dataset analysis.

The position offers substantial one-on-one mentorship and a collaborative environment supporting project completion and future independent research careers. The stated salary range is $72,000–$76,385. Applications should include a cover letter, CV, and contact details for three references. Apply by email to [email protected]. The deadline is December 29, 2026.
