About this position

Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Fellow in Neuromorphic Materials and Devices at the NTU Main Campus in Singapore.

The successful researcher will lead experimental research on post-CMOS and novel electronic devices, including memristors, that exhibit neuron-like behavior. The project will investigate 2D materials, phase-transition materials, spintronic materials, and other nonlinear materials capable of producing neuromorphic dynamical behavior. The work is carried out in a pioneering laboratory in neuromorphic computing within NTU’s School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Responsibilities include defining detailed experimental procedures, conducting experiments, reporting results through publications, and presenting findings at major conferences.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience in experimental device fabrication and/or testing is required, with relevant experience gained during the PhD accepted. Experience with 2D materials, memristors, and optical materials is advantageous, as is familiarity with neuromorphic computing and AI models. Strong written and oral communication skills and publications in leading conferences or journals are expected. Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.

The position is full time. The school notes generous funding, although the advertisement does not specify salary or other benefits. Applications are submitted through NTU’s Workday careers portal; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Funding details

The School is described as having generous funding, but no specific salary, stipend, tuition coverage, or other financial package is stated.
