About this position
This postdoctoral fellowship sits within the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences at The University of Queensland and focuses on the measurement of plastic additive chemicals in human matrices. Working with project lead Dr Xianyu (Fisher) Wang, the fellow will investigate key exposure sources and help advance understanding of how plastics-related chemicals move through and affect the human body.
The project is part of the Minderoo Centre – Plastics and Human Health, a multidisciplinary research effort bringing together environmental health, toxicology, epidemiology, risk assessment and advanced monitoring of environmental hazards and exposures. The successful researcher will contribute to method development and validation for trace-level chemical analysis, working with complex samples and producing high-quality outputs in a collaborative research environment.
The role is research-focused and combines independent investigation with contribution to a broader team that studies plastics and human health. It offers the opportunity to build a research profile, work across environmental and analytical chemistry, and engage with experts in a highly interdisciplinary setting at UQ’s Dutton Park campus.
