About this position
This postdoctoral position is based at Mid Sweden University within the FSCN research centre at the Department of Engineering Sciences, Mathematics and Subject Didactics (IMD). The research environment is described as strong and multidisciplinary, with a focus on material and process technology and on developing knowledge and technologies that enable more resource-efficient processes and improved functionality in biobased materials and energy materials.
The successful applicant will work primarily on chemical pulping research in the project Emission Free Pulping. The work is focused on process development for new methods to produce fibres and by-products with high yield while avoiding biomass combustion. The project is positioned within a broader industrially connected research effort and includes collaboration with companies and a consortium structure, so the role includes research visits and travel.
The advertisement situates the project within a large, long-term programme coordinated with leading research partners, and the position is located in Sundsvall. The research sits at the intersection of chemical engineering, wood chemistry, pulp processing, and sustainable fibre production, with a clear applied orientation toward industrially relevant process development.
