About this position
This 18-month postdoctoral project in circular polymer chemistry is based at the Institute of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences of Montpellier (ICGM), in collaboration with the French deep-tech start-up PETSHKA.
The research will investigate sustainable routes for the chemical recycling and valorization of major polymers. The postdoctoral researcher will work on the catalytic depolymerization of polyurethanes and polyethylene terephthalate (PET), examining how the structures of the resulting products influence their reactivity and properties.
A further focus will be the conversion of recycled polyols into new polymer materials. This involves connecting depolymerization chemistry, structure–reactivity relationships, polymer synthesis, and materials development within a circular-economy framework.
The project offers a collaborative research environment spanning the ICGM and PETSHKA, combining academic polymer chemistry with deep-tech industrial innovation in sustainable polymers and chemical recycling.
