About this position
Université Côte d'Azur (Nice, France) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to work with Prof. Alice Mija at the Institut de Chimie de Nice (CNRS UMR7272). The project focuses on advanced polymer-based materials and composite systems for space applications, with an emphasis on biobased and recyclable materials that can withstand extreme environments.
The research covers polymer science, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering topics such as synthesis of monomers and polymers, thermoset formulation, carbon fibre-reinforced composites, multifunctional composite materials, fillers/nanoparticles, interface engineering, processing, and mechanical/thermal/thermo-mechanical characterization. A major part of the work concerns ageing, degradation, and durability under simulated space conditions including thermal cycling, vacuum, and radiation.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have 1–4 years of research experience. Strong experience in polymers, composites, advanced materials, characterization, and experimental research is expected. Excellent English and French are required.

Candidates should have 1–4 years of research experience and demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: organic chemistry; synthesis of monomers and polymers; polymer materials and polymer chemistry; composite materials and fibre-reinforced thermosets; advanced manufacturing and materials processing; materials characterization; mechanical and/or thermo-mechanical testing; DSC/TGA; spectroscopic or microscopic techniques; ageing, degradation and durability of polymers and composites; functional or nanocomposite materials; or materials for aerospace/space applications. Excellent English and French are required, along with strong analytical skills, independent and team-working ability, and a strong publication record.
