About this position

The Feld Group at QuTech, Delft University of Technology, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work at the intersection of quantum technologies, GPU acceleration, and high-performance computing. The project focuses on building the software and systems foundations for tightly integrated quantum-classical computing, with the aim of supporting scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computing.

The role spans several connected research directions. You will work on low-latency quantum-classical integration with industrial partners such as Qblox, including benchmarking GPU integration with quantum-control hardware. You will also develop GPU-accelerated decoding methods for quantum error correction, contributing to more scalable and reliable quantum computers. In addition, the position includes hardware-aware quantum software development, compilation for emerging quantum architectures, and optimization methods for mapping, routing, and fault-tolerant execution.

This is a collaborative research environment across QuTech, TU Delft, and industry partners. The work is positioned within a broader effort to create next-generation quantum computing technologies through hardware-software co-design, advanced decoding approaches, and practical performance-oriented systems research. The group emphasizes an inclusive and supportive team culture, with opportunities to contribute to multiple aspects of quantum-classical system development.

The position is based at Delft University of Technology in Delft, within QuTech’s quantum technology ecosystem.

Funding details

24-month postdoctoral contract with salary and benefits in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch universities; excellent pension scheme via ABP and additional employment benefits.

What's required
