About this position
ENS-PSL / Université PSL in Paris is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Re-contract Research Program (Axis 1), focused on trust, social contract renewal, and intergenerational social protection.
The project examines how citizens view social protection politically and normatively: what should be protected, who should organize it (state, non-profit sector, or insurance sector), how resources should be pooled and redistributed, and how trust in institutions and shared political projects is shaped in a context of polycrisis, systemic risks, and social change.
This postdoctoral work is comparative at the European level and will use major survey sources such as the European Social Survey (ESS), European Values Survey, and ISSP. The role includes research activities within Axis 1 and contribution to the organization of scientific activities for the program.
Eligible candidates must hold a doctorate in philosophy, political science, or political sociology, defended between one and five years before the position date. The call values interdisciplinary thinking, quantitative analysis skills, political theory interest, comparative analysis experience, strong English, and the ability to work with statistical methods and software such as R, Python, or Stata.
The position is based in Paris, France, at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS-PSL), with a 24-month fixed-term contract at 100% workload. Salary is based on the institution's scale and experience.
Applications should include a CV and cover letter and be submitted via the application button and by email to [email protected].
