About this position

This postdoctoral position is based in the laboratory of Dr. Elaine F. Reed in the Division of the Immunogenetics Center, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California, Los Angeles. The lab sits within UCLA’s Immunology, Inflammation, Infection and Transplantation Research Theme (I3T) and operates in the state-of-the-art South Tower CHS research building, offering a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary research environment.

The project focuses on transplant immunology, with particular emphasis on understanding the mechanisms that drive alloimmune responses to transplanted organs and the processes involved in tolerance induction. The lab uses systems immunology strategies to investigate cellular and humoral immunity and to identify and validate biomarkers relevant to rejection and tolerance. The work also incorporates novel spatial omics methods to study transplant pathology more comprehensively.

The successful candidate will join a diverse team at UCLA with expertise spanning immunogenetics, immunology, transplantation, infectious disease, biostatistics, and computational immunology. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to ongoing projects while also developing independent research directions within a collaborative setting.

  • Systems immunology approaches including multiparameter immunophenotyping, transcriptomics, proteomics, and leukocyte functional assays
  • Computational and statistical analysis of immune responses and omics datasets
  • Research aimed at improving diagnostic precision and treatment strategies in transplantation

The position is posted as a Postdoctoral Scholar appointment at UCLA.
