About this position
Prairie View A&M University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the PIER initiative in Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence. The appointment is based in the Department of Electrical Engineering and is designed for a researcher who will contribute to the university’s work at the intersection of AI and engineering.
The role centers on Trustworthy AI for optimizing cyber-physical systems. The researcher will carry out independent and collaborative projects, lead experiments and simulations, and help develop testbeds and prototypes. The postdoctoral researcher will also take part in interdisciplinary work with faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Juvenile Justice, supporting a broader research environment that connects engineering, computing, and applied institutional collaborations.
In addition to research, the position includes a strong academic service and mentoring component. The postdoctoral researcher will publish findings in top-tier venues, teach one course per semester in the College of Engineering or collaborating colleges, mentor undergraduate and graduate researchers, participate in professional development workshops, and contribute to grant proposals and other development activities.
The appointment is full-time and in residence at Prairie View A&M University. It is framed as a one-year role with the possibility of renewal for a second year based on performance, research progress, and funding availability, with a maximum term of two years. The posting also notes that the postdoctoral role may provide a pathway toward a tenure-track position depending on performance and institutional need.
