About this position
The Institute for Quantum & Information Sciences at Syracuse University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join a theoretical quantum information program with strong ties to the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The position centers on quantum information science and its applications, with an emphasis on foundational and algorithmic questions in quantum theory.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Jason Pollack and collaborate with members of the Institute and Department. The research scope is broad and includes quantum error correction beyond stabilizer codes, including algebraic and holographic approaches; methods for synthesizing quantum unitaries; the structure of magic and entropy in quantum circuits; thermalization and decoherence in quantum computational systems; and the use of group and representation theory in quantum-circuit analysis.
The role is intended for a postdoctoral scholar joining an active research environment at Syracuse University, with opportunities to advise students and engage with other researchers across the Institute and department.
