About this position
Planetary Mind is a multidisciplinary research project in the Department of Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä. The project examines how environmental agency—the ability to make sustainable everyday choices—relates to mental health across age groups.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a consortium project that brings together professors, postdoctoral researchers, doctoral researchers, an interaction specialist, a project manager, and national and international collaborators. The work combines research, publication, collaboration, and societal use of research results in an interdisciplinary setting.
The project has three main aims: to study the significance of environmental agency for mental health, to generate new knowledge on environmental agency as a psychosocial resource and its effects on participation and wellbeing, and to develop and evaluate scalable, participatory, digitally supported ways to strengthen environmental agency and mental health in everyday life.
The role centers on developing interventions, collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data, publishing research, working with international partners, and engaging with the project’s research and stakeholder networks. The department offers an active psychology research environment with internationally relevant research and links to broad research areas, including learning, development, psychotherapy, work life, and brain research.
The position is part of a collaborative interdisciplinary research team focused on addressing current societal challenges through high-quality research.
