About this position
The Department of Biomedical Informatics in the School of Biomedical Sciences at The Ohio State University is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for specialized research training under the guidance of a scientific mentor.
The scholar will design and develop novel computational tools for biomedical data analysis and conduct large-scale analyses of omics data. The work may engage with genomics, genetics, and proteomics, while applying quantitative methods from bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science, and computational mathematics.
Responsibilities include identifying emerging biomedical data-analysis technologies and trends, interpreting results with laboratory staff and collaborative researchers, discussing project progress, and helping determine research priorities and research programs. The scholar will also search the published literature, contribute to grant proposals, prepare manuscripts, articles, abstracts, and project reports, and present ongoing work at local, national, and international conferences.
This is a collaborative research environment involving lab staff, researchers, and students within the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the broader academic health-center community at Ohio State. The position is based at Lincoln Tower on the Columbus Campus.
