About this position
The Ohio State University is inviting applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar in Dr. Christina Dyar’s lab within the Division of Nursing and Health Sciences. The position is based at the Columbus Campus, with on-site and hybrid work options, and requires residence in Ohio throughout the appointment.
Dr. Dyar’s research examines the psychological mechanisms through which stigma-related stressors—including discrimination and microaggressions—affect mental health and substance use among LGBTQ+ individuals. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to cross-sectional, longitudinal, and ecological momentary assessment studies focused on LGBTQ+ stigma, mental health, and substance use. Opportunities include analyzing existing datasets, authoring and co-authoring peer-reviewed manuscripts, and receiving mentorship in grant writing and research development.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in social, behavioral, or health sciences, or a related discipline such as psychology, public health, nursing, or sociology, by the expected start date. The role seeks researchers with 4–5 years of quantitative and/or qualitative research experience. Preferred qualifications include expertise in both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, peer-reviewed publication experience, study design and implementation skills, independence and teamwork, strong communication, and effective project management.
The appointment is expected to begin in Summer or Fall 2027 and last two years, subject to satisfactory completion of first-year responsibilities, with possible extension. The position is full time at 40 hours per week and includes comprehensive Ohio State employee benefits. No salary amount is specified, and visa sponsorship is unavailable.
For full consideration, apply by November 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through January 31, 2027. Submit a CV or resume, cover letter, and contact details for three references through the Ohio State Workday application portal.
