About this position
The Oshikawa research group at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar in quantum many-body theory and quantum condensed matter physics. The position is based at the OSU Main Campus in Columbus, Ohio, USA, within the Department of Physics Administration in the College of Arts and Sciences.
The successful researcher will take a leading role in a project on quantum many-body theory. The group works on general principles of quantum condensed matter physics and quantum many-body dynamics. Relevant research interests include field-theory approaches to quantum many-body problems, mathematical analysis, modern numerical methods, and connections between quantum information and condensed matter.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics by the time of appointment and a demonstrated record of accomplishment in quantum many-body theory. Preferred candidates will have expertise in one or more of the listed research areas. Application materials must include a curriculum vitae, publication list, brief description of past and proposed research, and at least three letters of reference.
This is a one-year fixed-term appointment that may be renewed based on performance and availability of funds. Ohio State provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, holidays, and retirement-plan contributions. The salary or stipend amount is not specified. Applications will be reviewed beginning December 1 and will remain open until the position is filled.
Applications should be submitted through the Ohio State University Workday careers portal. Additional information about the research group is available at the Oshikawa group website.
