About this position
This fixed-term research role at RMIT University focuses on soil and environmental geochemistry within the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. Working with Chief Investigator Associate Professor Dane Lamb, the successful candidate will contribute to research on environmental mineralogy, soil chemistry, and soil organic matter biogeochemistry, with particular attention to mineral-organic interactions and mineral-mediated redox and catalytic processes.
The position is designed for an established researcher who can work independently and collaboratively to advance a project spanning field sampling, data collection, project delivery, publication, and engagement with academic, industry, and government partners. The role also includes building research networks and contributing to competitive funding applications, alongside a small teaching and learning contribution aligned with the appointee’s expertise.
The post sits within RMIT’s School of Engineering, a large and research-active environment with extensive industry partnerships, major departmental breadth, and connections across Australia and internationally. The wider school emphasises innovation, collaboration, and translation of research into impact, providing a broad setting for an applied and externally engaged research program.
