About this position
PhD Position available at the Chair for Nanoscale Microscopy and Spectroscopy of Energy Materials at the TUM School of Natural Sciences of the Technical University of Munich. We are seeking highly motivated candidates (m/f/d) with M.Sc. in physics, physical chemistry, material engineering or related disciplines. As part of the research project, you will have the unique opportunity to synthesize multilayer photoelectrodes, which enable the realization of stable and efficient photosystems for solar water splitting. You will also gain hands-on experience in engineering tailored interfaces in these systems using plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition, a technique known for creating highly conformal coatings and accessing various materials systems. Additionally, you will perform nanoscale scanning probe microscopy on these multilayered photoelectrodes under operation conditions to monitor the local reaction processes. In summary, this role will equip you with valuable experience in thin film synthesis of multilayer photoelectrodes, as well as in the characterization of their local photoelectrochemical and semiconductor properties using different measurement techniques. To apply, please send your curriculum vitae, M.Sc. certificate, and a brief statement that explains your motivation for pursuing a PhD to Prof. Johanna Eichhorn ([email protected]). The position should be filled before 01.12.2024.…more
