About this position

I’m looking for a motivated PhD aspirant to take on a bold project, which is now funded by the prestigious ESRC through the CAM Doctoral Training Partnership.

The PhD studentship covers:

Tuition fees (UKRI Home rate; international students need extra funding for remaining fees and visa costs). Annual tax-free stipend (£20,780 for 2025/26, full-time). Up to £900 for research training. Personalised training programme & Three-month Innovation Fellowship placement with an academic or industry partner.

The project examines how technology and people (practitioners & patients) interact when healthcare systems face the pressures of fragility and scarcity in West Bank, Palestine.

This Supervisor-Led Project will:

?? Investigate how frontline practitioners interact with digital tools
?? Examine how tech reshapes care, workflows, and patient outcomes

You will be working directly with me and Rani Shahwan , alongside the brilliant and kind Professor Lynn Martin , who brings her expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship, and Professor Rory O’Connor, whose excellent work in rehabilitation medicine grounds this project in clinical reality.

If you’re curious, driven, and not afraid of research that blends disciplines, international fieldwork, mixed-methods approaches, and a dash of boldness— this could be your PhD.

Applications are now open. You can get in touch with me directly - [email protected]
