About this position

The University of Bath is offering two exciting PhD opportunities in quantum science within Kristina Rusimova’s established and well-funded NanoBioPhotonics Research Group. The projects explore how light can be used to control individual molecules and investigate their quantum behaviour.

Project 1: Loading the Quantum Dice: Controlling Matter One Molecule at a Time.

Project 2: A Photon and a Molecule Walk into a Tunnel Junction: Quantum Optics Meets Single-Molecule Science.

The opportunities are suited to applicants interested in experimental physics, quantum optics, molecular science, surface science, scanning probe microscopy and photonics. Successful students will contribute to an ambitious European research project and work in a collaborative research-group environment. The post describes the group as well funded, but does not provide a stipend amount or detailed tuition information.

Applicants should review the individual project pages for eligibility, project-specific requirements, deadlines and application procedures. Interested candidates are also invited to contact Kristina Rusimova for an informal chat.
