About this position
The LPMC laboratory at the University of Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France, is offering a two-year postdoctoral position on multiferroic BiFeO3-based superlattices.
The research will focus on the growth of epitaxial perovskite oxide thin films using pulsed laser deposition and their characterization with complementary structural, spectroscopic and physical measurement tools. The postdoctoral researcher will work with laboratory and synchrotron X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, electron diffraction, electrical measurements and magnetometry.
The resulting samples will be investigated using pump-probe approaches, including optical and time-resolved X-ray diffraction, in collaboration with consortium partners. The consortium is led by Pascal Ruello at IMMM in Le Mans and includes research teams at Paris-Saclay University and CentraleSupélec Paris-Saclay University, creating a collaborative environment spanning thin-film growth, advanced characterization and ultrafast structural dynamics.
The project is situated within condensed matter physics and materials science, with particular emphasis on multiferroic oxide heterostructures and the relationship between their structural and functional properties.
Funding details
The position is fully funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) for two years.
