Lab of Biomedical Microfluidics (LBMM) at EPFL is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for a project on highly multiplexed single-cell RNA-seq-based antibody discovery. The work sits at the intersection of single-cell biology, next-generation sequencing, microfluidics, and translational antibody discovery. The successful candidate will join a lab that has developed technology platforms in biomedicine and genomics and that combines a technology-development environment on the EPFL campus with a translational lab at the AGORA cancer research center. The project aims to exploit transcriptomic data sets to identify new therapeutic antibodies, with direct interaction with experts in microfluidics and bioinformatics. The position includes experimental and analytical work across the single-cell discovery pipeline, including optimizing sequencing workflows, sorting cells by FACS, preparing NGS libraries, analyzing data, and helping design screens with bioinformaticians. The advert highlights exposure to custom single-cell microfluidic platforms and a multidisciplinary research setting with clinical connections in Europe and the United States. The lab also notes its broader ecosystem, including startup spinouts and a strong translational orientation, making this a project for a researcher who wants to work across method development, antibody discovery, and biomedical application.

The Laboratory of Biomedical Microfluidics (LBMM) at EPFL is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a highly translational project at the interface of microfluidics, genomics, and cell therapy. The work focuses on highly multiplexed RNAseq-based screening to identify optimal protocols for expanding cancer-specific autologous TILs for clinical use. The project is embedded in the LBMM’s long-standing technology-development environment, which combines a tech development lab on the EPFL campus with a translational lab at the AGORA cancer research center. The postdoc will collaborate closely with the laboratory of George Coukos and interact with experts in microfluidics and bioinformatics. Research activities include the optimization of microfluidic and biochemical workflows, development of miniaturized T-cell expansion assays including feeder-cell systems, preparation of NGS libraries, and analysis of sequencing data with support from a bioinformatics facility. The post is based on repurposing established microfluidic platforms and is positioned within a lab with strong biomedical and genomics expertise, as well as links to clinical partners in Europe and the US. The environment is geared toward cutting-edge experimental work and translational technology development in biomedical microfluidics.
