Project B (UL): Development of spatio-temporal statistical models for water pollution monitoring on river networks. The project will address challenges in sparse data collection and aims to improve understanding of water quality by integrating factors such as agricultural land use, weather, and spatial-temporal data propagation. The research has significant policy implications under the EU Water Framework Directive. Funding: Each position offers a tax-free stipend of €25,000 per year for four years, with additional support for conference travel and a laptop. Tuition fees for Home/EU students are fully covered, and non-EU students are eligible for a fee waiver from the respective university. Eligibility: Applicants should hold (or expect to obtain) at least a 2.1 honours degree or equivalent in mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics.
