Postdoctoral Researcher in Structural Biology and High-Throughput Screening at UT Southwestern Medical Center

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Kober Lab in Dallas, Texas is recruiting two postdoctoral researchers in biochemistry and related areas. The lab, led by Daniel Kober, Ph.D. (Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry), studies how protein homeostasis —the maturation and turnover of enzymes—interacts with lipid metabolism . The research is highly interdisciplinary and uses structural biology , enzymatic reconstitution assays , cell biology , and discovery-based screening . One postdoc will focus on developing and implementing high-throughput screens for novel inhibitors of serine proteases in the secretory system, including chemical screening, mechanism-of-action studies, and in vitro potency assays in collaboration with the HTS core facility. The second postdoc will focus on structural and functional characterization of these enzymes, ideally for someone with a background in structural biology who wants to expand into functional biology, or vice versa. The post is aimed at motivated scientists who enjoy tackling complex biological problems through multiple mechanistic approaches. The lab values interdisciplinary research , creativity , and experimental rigor . No deadline or funding package is specified in the post, but this is a formal postdoctoral researcher opening at UT Southwestern Medical Center. How to apply: prospective postdocs should contact Dr. Kober with a statement of interest , CV , and contact information for three references . You can also review the lab website and the official job posting for additional details.
