The role is part of an Australian Research Council Discovery Project, Hitting the Limits: Intersectional Sexisms in Australian Universities , and is designed to support research led with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and gender diverse academics across Australian universities. The fellow will work closely with a national research team to lead and undertake research grounded in Indigenous knowledges, methodologies, and culturally informed approaches. The project centres Indigenous research practice throughout all stages of the process, including collaborative work with participants, communities, and organisations in culturally safe, ethical, and relational ways. Core responsibilities include contributing to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination, as well as producing publications and presentations related to the project’s aims. The role also involves strengthening the wider research environment through research proposal development, mentoring junior researchers, supporting research staff and higher degree research students, undertaking research administration, participating in professional activities and conferences, and contributing occasional teaching within the fellow’s area of expertise. The appointment sits within a large, internationally connected university environment, with access to research facilities, infrastructure, and collaborative opportunities. The advert highlights Monash’s School of Education and Culture, its inclusive research culture, and the chance to contribute to work intended to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australian higher education.
