Postdoctoral Researcher in Meta-science and Open Science Policy
This postdoctoral position at Eindhoven University of Technology offers a unique opportunity to advance the field of meta-science and Open Science policy. The project focuses on understanding and improving institutional policies for data and code sharing, aiming to make scientific research more transparent, reliable, and impactful. You will join an interdisciplinary team within the Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences (IE&IS) department, collaborating with researchers, data stewards, and policy makers to analyze existing policies, study researchers’ attitudes and practices, and develop evidence-based frameworks for greater adoption of Open Science principles.
The role involves mapping institutional policies, conducting behavioral and policy analysis, and engaging stakeholders in co-creation processes. You will be central to all stages of the project, from conceptual development and data collection to analysis and dissemination. The research is highly relevant for shaping future Open Science practices at universities and research organizations.
Applicants must have a PhD in meta-science, science of science, STS, psychology, sociology, research methodology/statistics, philosophy of science, information science, or a related discipline. Methodological expertise in policy analysis, survey research, quantitative analysis, scientometrics, or stakeholder co-creation is required. Advanced proficiency in R and python for statistical and corpus analysis is essential. Candidates should demonstrate high-quality academic research outputs, project management skills, and excellent English communication and leadership abilities. Experience coaching Master's students and working in interdisciplinary teams is preferred.
The position is full-time for 2 years, with a salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (scale 10, €4,241–€5,538), plus a year-end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.
