Wageningen University & Research is advertising a Postdoc researcher in transitions to nature-inclusive farming systems within the Animal Production Systems group. The project sits at the intersection of agriculture , biodiversity , ecosystem services , sustainability transitions , and the design of reward schemes for farmers. The postdoc will contribute to two research projects: ECOPESIA (EU Horizon Europe) and DECISION (NWO-KIC), both focused on developing approaches that support the transition to nature-inclusive or biodiversity-positive dairy and livestock systems in the EU and the Netherlands. Research tasks include developing analytical frameworks for schemes such as payment for ecosystem services, agri-environmental schemes, nature credits, and result-based finance; mapping and assessing policy frameworks at global, EU, and Dutch levels; proposing policy recommendations; supporting project coordination; and contributing to scientific and policy outputs. The role also includes teaching support and supervision of MSc and BSc students. Applicants should have a PhD in farming systems analysis and development, sustainability transitions, agricultural or environmental economics, or a related field. The post requires experience with inter- and transdisciplinary research, mixed quantitative and qualitative methods, multi-scale assessments, strong publication record, and excellent English communication skills; Dutch is preferred. Experience with project management and EU/NWO projects is an advantage. The position is based at Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. Salary is competitive, ranging from €3,546 to €5,538 gross per month for a full-time 38-hour week, with standard WUR benefits.
