Two postdoctoral positions are available at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) Bioengineering Department, in collaboration with Novo Nordisk’s Microbial Expression Engineering Department in Måløv. This academic-industrial partnership, led by Professor Uffe Hasbro Mortensen, focuses on advancing sustainable protein and peptide production by engineering industrial yeasts to broaden carbon-source utilization and enhance stress resilience. The research aims to address key challenges in industrial biotechnology and bioengineering, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovative microbial expression systems. Candidates will join a dynamic team working at the intersection of academia and industry, gaining exposure to cutting-edge research in yeast engineering, protein production, and microbial biotechnology. The project offers opportunities to develop new methods for improving the efficiency and sustainability of bioprocesses, with potential applications in pharmaceuticals and industrial enzyme production. Applicants should hold a PhD in bioengineering, biology, chemical engineering, or a related field, and have experience in yeast engineering, protein or peptide production, or microbial biotechnology. The positions are funded and offer a competitive salary and benefits according to DTU and Novo Nordisk standards. For more information and to apply, visit the DTU career site or contact the supervisors directly.
