About this position
Maastricht University is offering the NL-High Potential Scholarship for highly talented international students from outside the EU/EEA who have been admitted to a participating master’s programme at UM.

Applicants should have a strong academic record (GPA 7.5/10 or higher), be under 35 on 1 September 2027, and must not have previously participated in a degree-seeking higher education programme in the Netherlands. Preference is given to candidates without a prior master’s degree.
Participating fields include Public Health, Law, Neuroscience, Biology, Materials Science, Political Science, Communication Studies, Environmental Science, Psychology, and related areas across UM faculties. The scholarship is very competitive, with only about 2% of applicants awarded.

Then complete the scholarship application form in your UM account and upload the required documents: CV, motivation letter, proof of academic excellence, grade system explanation, personal statement of financial need, reference letter, and referee contact details. The programme application must be complete by 10 December 2026, and the scholarship application deadline is 1 February 2027 at 23:59.
