Africa CDC Mental Health Leadership Programme Scholarship

The Africa CDC’s Mental Health Leadership Programme (MHLP) is now accepting applications for its intensive Mental Health Leadership and Advocacy Course, scheduled for 10–22 May 2026 at The American University in Cairo (AUC). This program is designed to empower emerging leaders and practitioners from Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean with advanced skills in mental health advocacy, systems leadership, and policy influence. The course offers a unique platform for cross-border collaboration, sharing best practices in psychiatric care, and developing community-based interventions.

The curriculum is tailored to strengthen participants’ ability to navigate public health governance, influence national health agendas, and secure sustainable resources for mental health services. Practical strategies and theoretical training are combined to ensure graduates can drive systemic change in their regions. Scholarships are available through Africa CDC and AUC, covering a significant portion of program costs to ensure financial barriers do not hinder participation. The program aims for a diverse cohort, representing various health challenges across Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean.

Applicants should be dedicated professionals or emerging leaders in mental health, public health, or related fields.
