University of Bologna PhD Scholarship

PhD opportunity in Physics at the University of Bologna, Italy, focused on understanding defect states and interfaces in 2D and 3D metal halide perovskites.

The project is highly interdisciplinary and experimental, sitting at the interface of solid-state physics, semiconductor physics, and chemistry. Research topics include charge photogeneration and transport, trap states and defect states, and the role of defects in applications such as photovoltaic solar cells, photodetectors, and radiation detectors.

Applicants with backgrounds in Physics (especially condensed matter), Chemistry, or Materials Science are warmly encouraged to apply. The PhD programme includes a 6-month research period abroad.

This is a fully funded 3-year PhD scholarship. The University of Bologna PhD page indicates a scholarship amount of €1,350 net per month (intermediate amount), subject to possible variation based on pension fund membership or other employment income.
