About this position
The University of Southern Queensland’s Artificial Intelligence Applications Laboratory is seeking an international PhD candidate to research Digital Twins, artificial intelligence and future energy systems.
The project forms part of a funded Queensland–Bavaria collaborative research program involving the University of Southern Queensland, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Chemnitz University of Technology and energy-industry partners. The successful researcher will work with an established Digital Twin platform developed by the Würzburg team, adapting, extending and validating it for Queensland electricity-network applications.
The research environment combines AI and machine learning with computational modelling of energy systems. Potential research directions include power engineering, renewable energy, optimisation, electricity-network applications and the development of advanced Digital Twin technologies. The candidate will be embedded in UniSQ’s Artificial Intelligence Applications Laboratory and connected with international university and industry collaborators.
The project offers an opportunity to contribute to collaborative research at the intersection of digital infrastructure, intelligent energy systems and applied computational science.
