About this position

This postdoctoral scholarship at Karolinska Institutet offers an opportunity to join the Parlak team in the Division of Dermatology and Venereology, Department of Medicine, Solna, and the Centre for Molecular Medicine. The project centers on developing wearable biosensor devices for medical diagnostics, leveraging electrochemistry and sensor technology. The Parlak team is an interdisciplinary group focused on innovative diagnostic methods, designing wearable sensors for applications in microbiology, immunology, and neuroscience. As a postdoctoral fellow, you will contribute to the fabrication and development of bioelectronic devices, including biosensor device design, biorecognition engineering, and electrochemical analysis. Your work will be integral to the team’s goal of enabling rapid, accurate, and safe biosensing to improve clinical decision-making and patient outcomes. The lab environment is creative and collaborative, with access to a wide range of expertise and modern facilities. Karolinska Institutet is renowned for its medical research and education, fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations that drive global advancements in healthcare. The scholarship is tax-free, awarded for up to two years, and paid in twelve-month periods (with payments every six months). Eligibility is restricted to foreign researchers who have not completed their academic education in Sweden. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in natural or engineering sciences, with experience in electrochemistry and biosensors, and be fluent in English. The application process requires submission of a CV, publication list, and a summary of current work via the Varbi recruitment system. The position is located in Stockholm, Sweden, within a dynamic research environment dedicated to developing new technologies for early diagnostics, digital medicine, and remote health monitoring.
