About this position

iBET – Instituto de Biologia Experimental e Tecnológica is recruiting a PhD holder to join an IC&TD project focused on the development and production of complex biopharmaceuticals. The work is framed within collaborative R&D projects with biopharma companies and is aimed at advancing research activities in a biotechnology environment.

The position is based at iBET in Oeiras, Portugal, within the department identified as Projet Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to research on complex molecules, with particular emphasis on multispecific antibodies and other advanced biotherapeutic modalities. The role combines hands-on experimental work with analytical and biophysical characterization, supporting the broader scientific agenda of the project.

  • Protein expression, purification, and characterization in a biopharmaceutical context
  • Work with mammalian, insect, and bacterial cell culture systems
  • Use of analytical and biophysical approaches to evaluate protein quality and molecular interactions
  • Cell-based assays to assess function and mechanism of action of complex biotherapeutics

The advertised activity sits within a research setting that connects iBET’s biotechnology expertise with industrially relevant biopharma development. The position is intended for an experienced researcher who can contribute independently while working across multidisciplinary teams and external collaborators.
