About this position
This postdoctoral opening is part of the NCN Sonata BIS 14 project “Nonequilibrium thermodynamics of diffusion anomalies”, led by Prof. Jakub Spiechowicz at the University of Silesia in Katowice. The successful candidate will join the research staff of the August Chełkowski Institute of Physics, located at the Faculty of Science and Technology in Chorzów.
The project is centred on theoretical and statistical physics, with a strong focus on nonequilibrium statistical physics, stochastic processes, and stochastic thermodynamics. The appointed researcher will work on the study of diffusion anomalies and related transport phenomena in nanoscopic and microscopic systems, contributing to research outputs in the form of scientific publications and conference presentations.
The role is embedded in an active academic environment that combines research duties with broader scholarly engagement, including the pursuit of external research resources. The advert emphasizes work within a research project, publication-oriented output, and participation in scientific communication at conferences.
The position is a full-time appointment for a fixed period, with the possibility of extension, and is based at the University’s physics institute in Chorzów.
