About this position

?? PhD Opportunity Coming Soon!

Want to help shape the green energy transition while protecting sensitive energydata ? We will soon announce two fully funded PhD positions at DTU Wind and Energy Systems in “Privacy-Preserving Data Sharing for Future Energy Systems.” The official application link will be shared in the next 1–2 weeks.

These positions are part of our EUDP-funded project “Data Unlocked” ( https://lnkd.in/dKb7yFu2 ), in collaboration with Energinet, Enfor, Green Power Denmark, NeoGrid, and Watts. The project focuses on unlocking value from energy data while ensuring privacy using differential privacy. Among others, potential applications include:
- Privacy-aware sharing of consumer demand data for flexibility services
- Secure exchange of grid operation data for system coordination

You will join the Energy Markets and Analytics (EMA) Section ( https://lnkd.in/dp5PdppY ), a vibrant, international team of 13 researchers from 8 nationalities. EMA values diverse scientific backgrounds, perspectives, and gender balance and fosters a collaborative, stimulating environment.

We are looking for highly motivated and committed candidates with a strong interest in this research area, with backgrounds in mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, control theory, electrical engineering, energy systems, or related fields. Experience in optimization, probability, machine learning, and programming (Python/Julia) is a plus.

?? Positions start in 2026 (ideally Feb 1, no later than Aug 1), including a 4–6 month international research stay.
