About this position
The J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University is seeking a one-year visiting Research Fellow in Law, Religion, and Technology, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years. The fellow will be based in the Law School community in Provo and will take part in the school’s academic and intellectual life while developing an independent research agenda.
The role is centered on legal scholarship. The fellow will attend regular works-in-progress discussions with faculty, present their own scholarship, and spend the fellowship developing influential and enduring research. In the first year, the fellow is expected to write and present at least one full-length law review article. If renewed, the fellow may continue scholarship development, potentially teach, and engage with the legal academic job market.
The fellowship also includes participation in academic programming that supports the Law School’s scholarly environment. The fellow may help plan and host conferences and speaker events, and contribute to activities that strengthen their prospects for an academic career. The position is residential, with the fellow expected to remain in Provo for the duration of the appointment.
Brigham Young University is a private university with a distinctive religious mission, and the fellowship sits within that broader institutional setting. The post is designed for an emerging legal scholar whose work intersects law, religion, and technology and who is ready to contribute to a faculty-centered research environment.
