About this position
The University of Iowa is offering an NIH-funded postdoctoral research opportunity in human neuroscience focused on the mechanisms of cognitive control.
Led by Dr. Kai Hwang, the project will examine how cognitive control representations are organized in the brain and investigate the functions of the human thalamocortical system. The research directions will be developed collaboratively with the successful postdoctoral researcher, allowing the project to reflect the researcher’s interests and expertise.
The lab uses a broad range of human neuroscience methods, including multimodal neuroimaging with EEG and 7T fMRI, as well as noninvasive brain stimulation techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial ultrasound stimulation. Researchers also have access to dedicated 3T and 7T MRI systems.
The laboratory is part of the Cognitive Control Collaborative, a six-laboratory network that supports interdisciplinary exchange through weekly meetings and invited research talks. The environment is suited to researchers interested in cognitive control, cognitive neuroscience, brain connectivity, neuroimaging, and computational approaches to human brain function.
