About this position
The Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics is seeking a doctoral researcher to join the HOMEINEQ project, Housing and Mobility in the Reproduction of Inequality in Spain and Europe, and undertake a PhD in the Demography Doctoral Programme at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
The project examines how residential trajectories and access to housing develop across the life course and contribute to the reproduction of social inequalities. It explores how these relationships are shaped by demographic change, family systems, intergenerational processes, socio-spatial opportunity structures and housing finance.
The doctoral researcher will develop a thesis connected to the scientific aims of HOMEINEQ. Activities include reviewing literature and developing theoretical frameworks on residential inequalities, housing and the life course; preparing, managing and analysing quantitative, particularly longitudinal, data; and applying statistical methods to investigate residential trajectories and inequalities in housing access.
The researcher will also contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations and other dissemination activities, while participating in the research team’s scientific and coordination work. The project is led by Sergi Vidal and Riccardo Valente and is hosted by the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics in the research environment of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
This is a full-time doctoral research opportunity combining employment, advanced demographic training and empirical research on housing and social inequality.
