PhD Position in Materials Science and Pharmacology Research Institute of Materials Science of Mulhouse in France

A fully funded PhD position is available at the Institute of Materials Science of Mulhouse, France, supported by the National Agency for Research (ANR) grant. The research will be conducted under the supervision of Dr. Valeriy Luchnikov and Prof. Thierry Vandamme (Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Strasbourg). This interdisciplinary project sits at the interface of materials science and pharmacology, focusing on the development of innovative gastroretentive oral dosage forms.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary research environment with access to training courses, conferences, and international collaborations. The project involves both experimental and theoretical work, including the design and fabrication of new materials, spectroscopic analysis (UV-VIS, IR, Raman), and computer simulations. The aim is to advance the field of oral drug delivery by creating novel materials with improved retention and release properties.

Applicants should have a strong background in materials science, chemistry, pharmacy, or a related discipline. Experience with experimental setup design, engineering skills, and familiarity with pharmaceutical laboratory equipment and spectroscopic methods are highly desirable. The position offers full social security and benefits for up to three years, starting on 31 May 2026.
