About this position
The University of Nottingham's School of Chemistry is recruiting ambitious and highly motivated graduates for multiple PhD research projects beginning in the 2027/2028 academic year.
Projects span three strategic areas: Chemistry for Energy, Environment and Sustainability; Chemistry for Health and Society; and Chemistry for the Quantum and Digital Future. PhD researchers will work in an internationally recognised research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities, interdisciplinary collaboration and comprehensive doctoral training.

Strong 2:1 graduates and applicants with equivalent overseas qualifications may also be considered. Applications should specify the broad chemistry area of interest and whether a potential supervisor has been identified.
The opportunity is eligible for competitive EPSRC Doctoral Landscape Award funding. If awarded, funding covers Home fees and includes an annual stipend of £21,805 for 2026/27.
