About this position
Postdoctoral opening in the Cognition, Computation, and Consciousness Lab at Vanderbilt University, led by André M. Bastos.
The project focuses on scaling laminar recordings from 128 to 512–1,024+ channels to study how predictions and prediction errors are routed across cortex, thalamus, basal ganglia, and hippocampus in behaving macaques. The lab is interested in questions about feedforward and feedback signaling, cortical computation, oscillations, and population dynamics.
Applicants should have a PhD or be close to completing one in neuroscience, computational neuroscience, neuroengineering, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field. Relevant experience may include electrophysiology, modeling, signal processing, or neurotechnology. Non-human primate experience is not required. The lab especially welcomes candidates interested in building agentic AI tools for data analysis.
The position is based at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, United States. The lab is newly R01-funded and growing, with collaborators across Vanderbilt and beyond.
To apply, send a CV, research statement, and references to [email protected]. Review is rolling, so early applications are encouraged.
