About this position
This part-time postdoctoral position at Delft University of Technology is embedded in TRIK (Toekomstbestendige Renovatie met Integrale Kwaliteitsborging), a mission-driven research project focused on neighborhood-scale renovation of private homes. The role centers on the financial side of the transition: identifying and managing financial risks across actors and phases of the renovation process, and developing viable funding strategies that can accelerate energy renovation at scale.
Working within the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, the successful candidate will contribute to an interdisciplinary consortium involving municipalities, market actors, knowledge institutions, and other stakeholders. The project brings together technical solutions, resident support, quality assurance, and market and finance perspectives to build an integrated, neighborhood-oriented renovation approach.
At TU Delft, the postdoc will work on research that combines public and private financing resources into practical models for homeowners and other parties involved in renovation. The position includes analysis of risk allocation, exploration of innovative financial instruments, validation with stakeholders, and translation of findings into tools and recommendations for real-world neighborhood renovation practice. The work is closely connected to ongoing stakeholder activities and existing research in TRIK, providing a strong foundation for further model development and validation.
The appointment is based in the Management in the Built Environment group of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, where the research environment is highly collaborative and connects academic work with public and private practice in the Dutch energy transition.
