About this position
The University of Oxford is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Proteomics and Lipidomics to join the group of Associate Professor Shabaz Mohammed in the Department of Pharmacology.
The project investigates the characterisation of crosslinked proteins and lipids within a Wellcome Trust-funded collaborative research grant. The postdoctoral researcher will apply protein and lipid biomolecule methods to support proteome and lipidome characterisation, using sample preparation, liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry and scientific data analysis.
The researcher will test hypotheses, use existing and new scientific techniques, analyse experimental data and contribute ideas for future research projects. The role also involves collaborating on scientific reports and journal articles, representing the research group at external meetings and seminars, and providing guidance to less experienced postdocs, research assistants, technicians, PhD students and project students.
Based in the Department of Pharmacology on Mansfield Road in Oxford, the role offers an interdisciplinary research environment combining analytical chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, proteomics, lipidomics and mass spectrometry.
