About this position
Northeastern University’s Skinner Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a two-year research appointment in Boston, Massachusetts. The project focuses on uncovering cellular metabolic regulation through advanced metabolomics and proteomics approaches.
The postdoctoral researcher will initiate, execute and complete experiments; interpret results with the supervisor; prepare research papers, presentations and grant proposals; help maintain the laboratory; and train students. The work may involve molecular biology, gene editing, DNA manipulation, protein chemistry, protein biophysical analysis, metabolomics sample preparation, LC/MS, GC/MS and modern chromatography.
The laboratory welcomes researchers interested in applying biochemical and molecular methods to cellular metabolism. Experience with Western blots, qPCR/RNA-seq and CRISPR is valuable, while native or intact mass spectrometry experience would be advantageous. The role offers an opportunity to develop advanced metabolomics and proteomics expertise within Northeastern’s interdisciplinary R1 research environment.
