About this position
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting a full-time Post-Doc Research Associate in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the postdoctoral researcher will study tumor-associated macrophages and anti-tumor immunity using single-cell transcriptomics, spatial technologies, and CRISPR approaches.
The research will focus particularly on how folate in the tumor microenvironment affects macrophage biology and immune responses. The work aims to identify novel myeloid-directed therapeutics and support personalized treatment strategies for patients whose cancers are resistant to standard-of-care immunotherapies. The position is associated with the Miller lab and offers the opportunity to pursue high-impact publications during postdoctoral training.
Applicants must have a PhD in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a closely related field. PhD-level research experience is required, while previous animal research experience is preferred. The application requires a CV or résumé, cover letter, and list of references. The cover letter should explain the applicant’s interest in the research area and suitability for the Miller lab.
The appointment is full-time and temporary for an estimated 12 months, with salary support, comprehensive medical and vision coverage, paid leave, and professional-development benefits. Applications are due by October 31, 2026.
