About this position
This postdoctoral role is based in Texas A&M AgriLife Research’s Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. The postdoctoral scholar will join a laboratory focused on how structural variation and complex regions of the human genome influence genome function, neurodevelopment, and disease.
The position is designed for an independent and collaborative researcher who will develop research questions, plan and conduct studies, and communicate findings through peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations. The work may combine genomics, long-read sequencing, computational analysis, molecular and cellular biology, genome engineering, and stem-cell-derived models, with specific directions shaped by the scholar’s expertise and the lab’s funded project objectives.
The scholar will contribute to research design and execution, data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, conference presentations, and broader collaborative projects with the principal investigator, faculty, staff, students, and external partners. The role also includes mentoring and training students and other laboratory personnel, alongside participation in a research environment that emphasizes rigorous documentation, scientific communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Texas A&M AgriLife describes a large research and life sciences environment spanning research, extension, and service across the state. This position sits within that broader ecosystem and supports postdoctoral development in genomics- and neurobiology-related research.
